Boss Radio
I thought if I finally did this, I’d be able to get those a capella “93 KHJ” jingles out of my head. I may have been wrong. Click the logo at right for a pop-up window which will play over an hour of classic early ’70s Southern California pop, complete with jingles and a couple commercials. It’s all been edited into a seamless presentation and saved in glorious AM-quality mono. You’ll need to have QuickTime installed.

It finally happened. After 20 years of mourning the demise of PUP N TACO & hours of researching the internet for any signs of a fast food restaurant that might of inherited the recipes of the late fast food icon, it happend. Upon joining a Pup n Taco fan club on Facebook I stumbled on a blog entry that put a big smile on my face! A fast food restaurant that offers the original Pup N Taco menu? Can it really be? After a few phone calls and a little more time on the internet alast…POP N TACO, Originally Pup N Taco with the same menu. I had to see for myself, I just returned from Alb. New Mexico for a weekend trip to see if in fact this was true. Ladies and gentlemen I am happy to report that Pup N Taco lives! It has the original Frispos french fries although not crinkle cut anymore, same taco’s, chicken burritos, chili dogs, plain dogs, Cherry slushies, Grape not available anymore, chili cheese burgers and much more! My favorite thing to eat back in the day was two tacos, fries and a grape slushy. I have to admit I was a little dissapointed to see that the fries weren’t crinkle cut & the oil they are currently using doesn’t give the fries justice but none the less I still enjoyed them. The tacos were awesome! Just like I remember. They don’t offer RC Cola anymore, Pepsi is the offered cola and I recommend eating at the original PUP N TACO location on Central. It’s owned by the same person but the Central Ave location is a lot busier and for some odd reason the tacos tasted better. Although this location is only a walk up or drive thru. The other location is dine in and you will most likely meet the owner Rosa whom is very nice but thinks PUP N TACO guys like me are a little weird but after expalining my story of the love and memories I have for PUP N TACO she understood and took the time to cook for me and my wife 15 minutes before closing. I explained to her that there are more than 18,000 fans of her food out there and that I would like to be part of bringing it back to CALI…She politely smiled and said she would keep in touch. If you’re reading this Rosa I’m ready when you are! And to everyone else that can appreciate old school fast food go to New Mex and eat up; tell her Lou from HB California sent you and thank her for keeping PNT alive!!!
