T-Shirts

My original T-shirt designs are on sale at Etsy – details are over at my shop. Most sizes are in stock now with just a handful in each size.

I’ve discontinued some previous designs (Fountain Valley Drive-In, Lackamaroo!, and the original logo tees)… stay tuned for new designs, you never know when they’ll turn up!

Here’s what I have in stock now:

Pup ‘n’ Taco (vintage tan)

This T-shirt has the look of an old favorite, worn & washed for years. Vintage-style, heavy distressed Pup ‘n’ Taco logo on an American Apparel M434 fine jersey gym-style 70% combed cotton, 30% polyester T-shirt.

Three-color design. Shirt color: tan/brown.

Note: American Apparel garments are sized for a snug fit. If you prefer a loose fit, I suggest ordering the next size up from what you typically wear.

Pup ‘n’ Taco (vintage black)

Look like a badass in this black version. Well, as much of a badass as you can wearing a Pup ‘n’ Taco T-shirt. Vintage-style, heavy distressed Pup ‘n’ Taco logo on an American Apparel 2001 fine jersey 100% combed cotton T-shirt.

Three-color design. Shirt color: black.

Note: American Apparel garments are sized for a snug fit. If you prefer a loose fit, I suggest ordering the next size up from what you typically wear.

KMET 94.7

Rock it old school in this vintage-style distressed upside-down KMET logo on an American Apparel M434 mélange blue/navy ringer 100% combed cotton T-shirt.

Three-color design. Shirt color: grey/blue with navy blue neck detail.

Note: American Apparel garments are sized for a snug fit. If you prefer a loose fit, I suggest ordering the next size up from what you typically wear.

Kona Lanes

It may be a hole in the ground now, but we all remember the googie tiki-style destination Kona Lanes bowling alley in Costa Mesa, California. I’ve reproduced the neon sign artwork on an American Apparel 2410 fine jersey ringer-style 100% combed cotton T-shirt.

Two-color design. Shirt color: baby blue/navy.

Note: American Apparel garments are sized for a snug fit. If you prefer a loose fit, I suggest ordering the next size up from what you typically wear.

Little Bit of Heaven

…a real little bit, actually. I just did a very short run of KMET logo T-shirts – only ten XLs – and have already sold four before I could even get them online. If you want it, here it is – come and get it. But you’d better hurry ’cause it may not last!

True to the station’s original advertising, the logo is proudly displayed upside-down. Those who were there will get it. Those who weren’t – to hell with ‘em.

New Styles, Made in America

By popular demand, I’ve added the next “Lost Landmark” of Orange County to my T-shirt line: Kona Lanes. My Pup ‘n’ Taco tees have gone through an overhaul as well, pursuing a more authentic vintage look. Scroll up to check ‘em out and order!

Also, I’m happy to announce my T-shirts will now be produced using sweatshop-free labor right here in Southern California. While my printing has always been local, the blank tees themselves came from overseas – but now I’ve set up a relationship with one of the hottest movers in clothing these days. One of only a handful of clothing manufacturers making product in the US, American Apparel‘s garments are noted for their high quality, soft feel, and flattering fit. They pay their employees the highest wages in the industry and offer a long list of benefits – and they’re successful in the business.

None More Black

New in the T-shirt store today are two items: the “badass” black version of the Pup ‘n’ Taco T… plus an all-new design: Fountain Valley Drive-In.

More new designs will be coming in the next few months, inspired by the lost icons of ’70s-era SoCal. Let me know if you’d like an e-mail when the new designs hit!

In the meantime, scroll up to check out the new goods….

Kudos from the Collector’s Collector

Through my correspondence with Rebelscum, I was able to get a couple of my Lackamaroo! T-shirts in the hands of Star Wars über-collector and author Steve Sansweet. Steve was kind enough send a personal note when he received my package:

Dave—

Thanks for all of the extra goodies—especially the scan of that priceless barf bag! You might be able to send your daughter to college on that one. :D Amy is a true gem—a really nice, down to earth lady.

I really like the shirt too, and look forward to wearing one, hoping that the Lucasfilm cops will never spot any likeness to a, um, certain creature and make me strip it off.

The name you’ve adopted for the company still reminds me of the time my folks first visited California many, many years ago. My mother kept marveling at all the sights—and mispronouncing all the signs. Of course, a certain fast food place became part of a question. “What’s a Poop and Take-oh?” It’s one of those things you never forget!

Best regards,
Steve

My T-shirt design is now officially part of the Star Wars museum at Steve’s Rancho Obi-Wan!
